Do you need the quietest cat fountain?

I think all cat owners are aware of the peculiar nature of cats liking to drink moving water. My cat loves to get up on the bathroom sink and drink as the water is coming out of the tap.
If you are looking for a fast answer here is a table of the best and quietest cat fountains. Below you will find a breakdown and further review of each one.
I actually own the Catit Flower Fountain. You can get it in BLUE HERE and GREEN HERE. It’s the best quiet cat water fountain.
I had a gravity waterer for a while and found that my cats were constantly making it dirty. I also wanted to get something for them that had moving water because they both really like that. The Catit is easy to use, easy to clean and stays quiet. It’s also really easy to clean and replace the filter. All in all, it’s great value for the cost on Amazon.

Quiet Moving Water Cat Fountains for the Win
Does your cat like moving water?
Because of this, Cat product manufacturers have been busy over the years inventing all kinds of cat fountains.
The only problem I have found is that some of them are just loud enough that a light sleeper might be bothered by it. I have also found that more and more people are being conscious of the noise floor in their homes. By the time you add up all of the noise from each of the appliances, it can become quite a lot to deal with.
So what is the right fountain for your cat?
Choosing the right cat fountain for you and your cats needs
Making sure your cat has a supply of fresh water and plenty of it is essential for the health of your feline. In general, cats can drink between 5 to 10 fluid ounces of water every day.
Now many household cats have a mixture of dry and wet foods. Canned food contains around 78% water whereas dry foods contain far less.
A separate water supply is essential for a cat’s dietary balance especially has more domestic cats eat more dry food biscuits. Traditionally many owners have simply placed a bowl of tap water next to the food tray. This method is one way but if you are not around to refresh the water it simply becomes stale and your cat will not touch it. There is also the issue of hygiene, cats carry all kinds of fragments and bacteria that can accumulate in and around the bowl.
For these reasons, a dedicated cat fountain is a must!
What Kind of Cat fountains are on the market?
There are a number of different types of cat fountains on the market. Many are motorized and have filters that pick up dirt and keep the water clean.
The pumps are generally submerged and this keeps noise to a minimum. If you want to avoid the risk of potentially noisy pump breakdowns there are a number of gravity-based feeders.
Gravity Waterers
Good gravity feeders are really quiet, but they do not keep the water moving. Typically they are not considered water fountains. But if you want complete silence this is the way to go. I currently have a gravity feeder for my two cats, it is a great option.
- PetSafe Healthy Pet Water Station.
This is a great-looking design that has three sizes and comes with a stainless steel bowl, making it easy to clean and very hygienic. The reservoir locks into place to create an overall sturdy cat fountain that will not have spillage.
- WATER CAPACITY: Available in 1/2, 1 or 2 1/2 gallon water capacities
- DRINK ANY TIME: This gravity water station allows you to keep your pet hydrated at all times of the day or night
- STURDY CONSTRUCTION: The reservoir is made of durable plastic and locks in place to help from knock over and spills
- HYGIENIC WATER BOWL: The bowl is stainless steel and more hygienic for your pet

- Ohana Dog Gravity Water Dispenser.
This gravity cat fountain is quiet and nearly half the price of the Pet safe but it has a cheap design and looks. The reservoir looks similar to a corporate office-based water dispenser. It can hold 3.8 litres and has a good anti-skid pad on the base to prevent movement. The Ohana can also be used for dry food and so buying two for each might be more affordable if you are going to be away for a few days.
Pump Powered Water Fountains for Cats.
Cats love moving water. Often I find my cats joining me when I go to brush my teeth because they are hoping to get a drink from the tap. Cat fountains usually have a water basin of some kind that stores the water and then a pump that moves the water.
